Meaning of Cl Code
CL code is not an error. Its means that the child lock or control lock is enabled. Someone from home accidentally ran a child protection code. Because of this, if you will press any of the buttons, this code will appear.
Every home has small children, and these children are interested in opening the door by pressing a button. The child lock feature does not allow the door to open while running a cycle.
In fact, all the buttons on the machine are locked in blocking mode. Whenever a child presses the button, the code will appear in the display of a dishwasher. This will prevent the child from changing the running cycle.
In new models of LG dishwasher When the machine door was locked while washing, neither you nor your child can open the door, So neither you nor your child can open the door in the meantime, neither you nor your child can open the door.
In older Lg models that stop the overflow of hot steam evaporation, dishwasher operation and the appliance can close immediately so that you can avoid an unpleasant accident.
To Activate The Child Lock
- Open the dishwasher.
- Press the Power button.
- Select a Cycle.
- Press or hold the Rinse or Spray button for 3 seconds.
- When the child lock is turned on, it will appear on the screen of the dishwasher.
- Now close the door and start the cycle.
Such LG models have also been introduced. The lock is triggered by pressing the dual-zone button and holding it.
To Deactivate The Child Lock
- Press Wash and Rinse button together.
- Hold down both buttons for at least 5 seconds.
- And then free both buttons.
By doing this, remove the child lock, and your machine will work properly.

There are various types of buttons that you can lock and unlock by clicking on the buttons in different models. So, look at your dishwasher’s manual. Your machine will be locked or unlocked by holding two or three buttons.
You can see the lock and release icon in some models. Pressing them will unlock the machine.
What’s the Child Lock Feature?
Child lock is actually a feature. It is available in LG and various brands with this feature’s help if they go near the machine. So, children, there will be no danger.
The lock feature stops the child from playing in the kitchen and attempting to open the dishwasher.
What the blocking mode does is?
- The lock feature locks the other button, functions in the dishwasher.
- And this code appears on the dishwasher’s screen.
- If a child presses a button or accidentally suppresses from an adult, your code will appear.
- You cannot adjust the settings of the dishwasher with this feature.
AE & E1 ERROR CODE – DISHWASHER
Whenever AE & E1 an error code appears, it means that your machine is leaking. This message will indicate that the machine is overflowing. Two potential factors can justify this.
- You didn’t level it the right way.
- The wrong amount of detergent has been added.
What Type of Detergent Do You Use?
Pods and Tablets for Dishwasher
In general, the correct amount of detergent is present in pods and tablets. If you have used more than one pod or tablet and Water is soft, this amount is too much.
If excess water or foam will flow into the base. There is a float switch at the base, Which detects the overflow and displays the error AE & E1 code. The service is not needed in this situation.
- Switch the breaker off when the water is in the foundation.
- The kick plate can now be quickly removed.
- Look in the middle below the dishwasher Check the base is accessible or not If yes, use a paper or towel to absorb the water.

Inspect Middle of Base
- If there is no water on the base of dishwasher, then the water may have evaporated.
- If the base is not visible or out of your reach.
- Then leave the kick plate for 24 to 48 hours to improve the evaporations.
- Once it gets wet with water and takes a long time to evaporate, you can now turn on your dishwasher, reset it, and now run an empty cycle.
Service is not needed if the error code still appears.
Note
If the dishwasher level is correct and the right amount of detergent is inserted, then the error code persists then visits LG Service Centre.
Check The Levelling
First of all, verify the surface of the unit.
- Open the dishwasher and keep the leveler against the roof.
- Keep the unit open or now keep the leveler in front of the cabinet in a vertical position.
- Lift the lid like that you are about to close but leave it open a few inches. Take care of it. There should be an equal distance between the door and the tub on both sides.
- Now check if the unit is at floor level to run a normal cycle in your unit. It doesn’t take long for the initial to fill up with water. Now check that the water is flowing from one side to the other or near the center. If the water is far away from the tub’s sides, then it means that the dishwasher is not level.

If it is not level, it will leak while running.

Liquid or Powder Dishwasher Detergent
There are two marks on the dispenser for dishwasher detergent. If your dispenser is full, then excessive water or foam will flow into the base.
There is a float switch at the base, Which detects the overflow and displays the error AE & E1 code.
Determine If Too Much Detergent is Being Used
- 15 Line: Soft or lightly soiled water conditions.
- 25 Line: Hard water or lightly soiled loads.
- Normal or medium water and soil levels between 15 and 25.
- Switch the breaker off when the water is in the foundation.
- The kick plate can now be quickly removed.
- Look in the middle below the dishwasher. Check the base is accessible or not. If yes, use a towel or paper for water absorption.

If you are using dishwasher Liquid rather than dishwasher detergent, So this amount is too much, then excess water or foam will flow into the base. There is a float switch at the base, Which detects the overflow and displays the error AE & E1 code. In this situation, service is not required.
My Inverter Direct Drive LG Dishwasher is displaying an error not referenced here or in the manual. It is “bE”. It appears to be stopping near the end of the cycle. Dishes appear to be washed but not completely dried – this a few water drops on the edges of dishes or on the turned up bottoms of cups and glasses.
